Tina Boyd
Family Panel Consultant and Family Report Writer
Tina Boyd is a highly accomplished social worker with almost two decades of specialist experience across child protection, statutory practice, family law, and organisational leadership. She brings a strong clinical lens to complex family assessments, drawing on extensive frontline experience in both Australian and UK safeguarding systems. Tina is recognised for her capacity to manage high-risk caseloads, lead multidisciplinary teams, and deliver assessments that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in contemporary evidence.
In her current practice, Tina works as a Panel Family Consultant and Family Report Writer, providing independent, child-focused assessments for Family Law and Child Protection Matters. Her practice is informed by deep knowledge of risk assessment, developmental needs of children, domestic and family violence dynamics, and systemic factors impacting family functioning.
Tina also supervises practitioners across the child, youth, and family sectors, offering reflective, structured supervision that supports professional growth, safe decision-making, and wellbeing. In addition, she contributes to the education of future social workers as a Sessional Academic at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Her approach is shaped by long-standing work with First Nations families and culturally diverse communities, a commitment to ethical practice, and a belief in cultivating hope and resilience within the families she supports. Tina’s career history includes senior leadership roles within the Department of Child Safety in Queensland and safeguarding teams in the United Kingdom, where she led reform initiatives and supported improved outcomes for vulnerable children.
Tina holds a Master of Social Work, alongside specialist child protection and leadership training, and is an Accredited Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers with Child Protection Specialist Accreditation. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality assessment services, fostering collaborative practice, and contributing to safer outcomes for children and families.
